Time will Remember
Capricious dweller in the ruins of Kho
Alpexin seems to reside in the Ruins of Kho, an ancient Azlant city made of jade.
She has the upper body of a woman (without breasts) & the lower is scaled & coiled, like a fish. Her skin is almond, & her hair is bright gold, while her mostly golden scales contain various shades of blue, green, & pink. Her eyes were not seen from behind the mask she wore when the group met her.
After ascending to the fifth level of the ziggurat in the Ruins, they heard her harp playing & her stunning hum reverberated soothingly through the cool stone halls. They saw her sitting on a large dais/stool, playing a harp made of shells & coral, with string that glittered like the stars. It was Alpexin that told the group that Romen & Bem had been gone from what they’d call home for 2 years. It was also Alpexin that demanded a price be met, with Kalos staying behind as the payment. She had to rediscover her heritage, as she was one of the seapeoples but was unaware.
When the group returned to Pachakal, Aya informed them Alpexin was really a good being, but knowing of Romen, Bem, & Lostris’s connection to Lambanein (who had stolen from the Ruins & was killed) irritated Alopexin.
When Romen, Bem, & Lostris returned to the Ruins, Alpexin seemed kinder. She was playing music while Kalos greeted them. The trio set out to search for Lambanein’s body in the Ruins. Shortly after the battle with the Panther & Serpent, Bem asked Kalos & Alpexin to come along.
It was Alpexin who discovered the lever that brought the Ziggurat of the Architect of Violence up out of the ground.
She was the second to jump in willingly to the darkness that took Kalos (& which Bem leaped into first). Her weight destroyed the cushions at the bottom.
She was with them in the ziggurat, aiding in destroying the spider eggs & a spider, as well as distributing bits of valuable information spread thickly with her usual musical jilt.
After Jerrod had come upon the party, it was Alpexin who kept masses of spiders at bay while the rest escaped. (“So heroic!” she had said of Romen, when he told her to leave before him)
Just before Jerrod had discovered the pink butterfly switch, Alopexin headed up the tunnel one more floor.
When the party came up to this story, Alpexin was seen on the other side of several veils, seemingly not moving. Kalos screamed “Alpexin!” & ran to her mentor. After the scuffle with the living veils, Kalos sobbed upon seeing Alpexin frozen as obsidian.
